Imperfect Produce delivery

“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” Smart guy, that Confucius. So much food goes to waste each year because it doesn’t fit the mold, it’s too small, too bruised, too green – it’s perfectly, imperfect.

This week, I received my first Imperfect Produce delivery – @imperfectproduce. The company’s mission is to reduce food waste by working with farmers to pay a fair price for “ugly” produce that would otherwise go to waste. They sell it to you for 30-50% less than retail because you’re willing to see the value behind those imperfections. Pretty cool, right?

Here’s how it works:

1.) Choose a Plan: Veggies, Fruits, Fruit & Veggies, Organic

2.) Pick a Size: I chose the medium, which is good for 1-2 person households

3.) Select a Frequency: To start, I chose every other week.

4.) Customize: Every Thursday you receive an email reminder to log into the website to select the produce you’d like to receive the following week.

5.) Wait Anxiously: Produce is delivered to your door on the day and time slot you select!
